Has it really been nearly 12 months since i've done any serious updates? Guess i got caught up in real life a bit. So much to do these days.
I'll try and give you a glimpse at what's been happening...

Lots of new photos ... mainly of Tali (DG Talisman) at this stage. More will be added as i edit them. Best way to see the new photos is to follow this link:
Lots of news. Slowly updating the website over the next couple of days, while this heatwave (4 - 5 day of 40 degrees or more) make it too hot to spend much time out in the sun.

At 8.00 pm last night (Thursday 17th October) Verona foaled a lovely big, strong colt foal. Verona cleansed quickly and cleanly, and bub was up and drinking in about two hours. He's very cute, and a very strange reddy / brown colour which i've not encountered before. This one will be interesting! Adie's mealy muzzle seems to be there, as does the beginings of black legs. We als have a big star and a small white rear hoof and sock (shock, horror, gasp ;))
Welcome to the world!
In utero, he was called Thumper, as he was a very active bub. I still haven't got a name picked, but i have a short list.
Details and more pics to follow. I'm suffering from end-of-month, son-used-our-whole-data-allowance again. Will post this then attempt some photos. Fingers crossed!
**edited to add, we have a name! Dungarron Talisman. Still struggling to get photos on here, there are some on Facebook now.
*** edited again to add there is now a gallery of photos of Talisman on the Gallery page here.

I made a comment the other day that i never remember to pics of 'my' boys, Cloud and Harry. There were some pics of the beautiful Cloud in a previous 'news' post a couple of months ago. Here's Harry. He's not particularly happy. With the grass springing faster than can be consumed - even though Harry's given eating it all a good go - ponies have gotten into what could be called, ahem, 'forward' condition. Millie and harry seem to be the worst for getting fat quickly. Both are noow in the yards to limit their grazing. Yards with soaked plain grass hay by day, out for a pick in the well grazed back pushing up yard at night. Like mother, like son.
It's nice to see pics of Highlands of different colours. Harry is brown. Not to many of them around.
He's by the late Barrymoor Dorian out of our grey dun mare, Benacre Mill Buie.

Changed the background so it's not so headache-inducing. I loved the tartan, but it did weird things to my (and others) eyes.
Now moving on to updating the information for each of the ponies.
Horrible rainy and cold day, so a good one for being indoors and playing on the computer.

New website look ... slowly working through making sure it's the same, but different.
Hope you like it! Let me know if you find any mistakes or problems.
Two birthdays during the week - Ghillie turned 3 and Harry turned 7. Happy birthday to my lovely boys!
Verona is due to foal later this month as well. We're all very excited about this foal. Verona is doing well, but just in the last week has got very itchy and has scrubbed herself in a couple of places, but mostly on her face. A quick call to Anita at Herbal Horse had a specially designed herbal cream made to soothe and heal in the mail and on it's way to help Verona feel more comfortable.

100mm is what i tipped out of the rain gauge at 7am on Sunday March 4. Hubby had been called out at 4.30 am to help sandbag around town, and by 5.30 am the Ten Mile Creek had washed out of it's banks and cut the Hume Hwy again - the first time was in Oct 2010. We'd had 75 mm during the previous week. It's hard to remember that we'd spent so many years either in drought or smoked in from horrendous fires.
Obviously, we were some of the lucky ones with the Ten Mile staying inside it's banks while cutting through our place. It had been over the bridge again, but had receeded to just under when i checked it at 6.30 am - it stayed there for over 24 hours. Ponies were all safe, dogs where they were supposed to be, and a couple of days later it's hard to tell it ever happened. Here, at least. Heart & hope goes out to friends and others affected by the HUGE floods in and around Wagga Wagga, Tumut, The Rock, Uranquinty. Know that you are being thought about, and that help is there for the asking.
Just to put it into perspective a bit, you can normally ride under
that bridge without having to duck your head!
Finally, Zoom couldn't make out what all the fuss was about and was
getting bored with the flow of people and cars past his paddock,
just to look at the creek.
